    Major Duties

    • Serves as the principle advisor to the local Site Director and Director, DLA Installation Support in directing the accomplishment of responsibilities related to activity operations and services.
    • Assists in the development of program guidance materials and statements of policy for Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna in assigned program areas.
    • Participates in the development, execution, review and analysis of formal programs and budget schedules consistent with established plans and policies.
    • Maintains close contact with local commands for coordinating the execution of the DLA Installation Support at Susquehanna services.
    • Directs staff management personnel or subordinate supervisors in connection with isolation of deficiencies in their organization and conduct of special studies which change policy or operating procedures as a result of such studies.
    • Responsibilities include facility engineering support related to customer operations. Oversees modernization plan and real property sustainment, restoration and modernization to include master planning and MILCON construction.
    • Develops innovative program plans, objectives, and improvements for the directorate.
    • Serves as management official with respect to labor relation issues such as ADR, EEO, and grievances.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory DS Susquehanna Site Deputy Director, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and coordinate operations through direct personal responsibility as well as through subordinate supervisors. Ability to set and adjust long and short-term priorities, goals and objectives; determines program segments to be initiated, dropped, or curtailed; devotes resources to program; and assures compatibility and consistency of interpretation, judgment, logic and application of goals and policies. Demonstrated ability to direct, support, and implement policies, programs, and objectives related to the DLA Installation Support mission. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
