    Major Duties

    • Coordinate and evaluate the efforts of functional specialists to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions needed to meet each requirement on time.
    • Identify the specific requirements for funding, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support distribution programs.
    • Manage direct material support provided to the Trident Refit Facility (TRF), Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), site and local customers through subordinate supervisors, leads, and managers.
    • Provide material support to one of the largest shipyards in the world specializing in repairing, overhauling, and modernizing ships and submarines.
    • Provide direction to those planning and overseeing customer support.
    • Responsible for agency and customer program planning, funding, and management information systems.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Provide direct support to customers who rely on the Distribution Center to maintain an acceptable state of readiness so that their designated repairing, overhauling and modernizing ships and submarines missions can be carried out even during contingency operations. Provide coordination and integration of numerous functions related to supply, maintenance, procurement, contract surveillance, transportation, inventory management, quality assurance, facilities and property management, production control, as well as safety, security, and disposal, into an overall efficient and effective support effort. Serves as the primary technical authority on supply, storage and distribution operations and programs supporting local customers and develops local operating instructions and procedures. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
