    Major Duties

    • Serves as Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking Division Chief for a Strategic Distribution Platform.
    • Plans, directs and supervises all unit warehousing activities, including bare item receiving, packaging, stowing, and issues with depot mission support controls for container manufacturing and reclamation.
    • Serves as the depot focal point for the continuous improvement of material accountability, control, and stewardship of inventory assets handled by the depot, customer support and special projects.
    • Resolves budget shortages, plans for long-range staffing and plans for and adjusts work operations of a sizable workforce to meet changing mission needs.
    • Plans, establishes, and manages division-wide operations to ensure maximum efficiency, resource utilization, and economy.
    • Orchestrates comprehensive inventory stewardship programs, driving location audits, denial and in-transit research, physical inventories, and item data integrity initiatives to guarantee audit readiness.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Leverages a broad range of supply program relationships with expertise in specialized fields of supply operations, including distribution, warehousing, inventory management, and technical packaging. Applies specialized methods and techniques to independently analyze, evaluate, and direct the effectiveness and efficiency of a large-scale, multi-mission logistics and distribution program. Formulates policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), performance metrics in material accountability and asset stewardship to optimize complex supply chains. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
