    Major Duties

    • This position serves as the J-1 HQ Human Resources, Deputy Defense Logistics Agency Training Director.
    • Participates with the DLA Training Director to oversee, manage, and evaluate DLA career development programs such as the DLA Corporate Intern Program, Enterprise Leader Development Program...
    • CONTD: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act, and the DLA Learning Management System.
    • Conducts research and development in new training technologies and leads in the implementation of new technologies where they are shown to be the best value.
    • Assists in the development of program guidance materials and statements of policy in assigned program areas.
    • Approves and/or initiates the selection, promotion, transfer, detail, commendation, training and discipline of subordinate supervisory personnel.
    • Evaluates subordinate supervisory positions; makes and/or approves selections for subordinate positions; and hears and resolves serious employee complaints.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Human Resource Development), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Overseeing and directing human resource development programs and activities. Conducts research related to training programs that leads to implementation of new technologies. Leading and assisting in the creation of training guidance for developmental programs. Developed or approved major policies and maintains oversight over operations to ensure compliance. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
