    Major Duties

    • Acts as principal advisor and assistant to the Commander or designee providing property disposal support.
    • Directs and manages the operations at DLA Disposition Services Region and provides supervision over key personnel and contractor employees.
    • Conducts on-site reviews/inspections of the operations at DLA Disposition Services Field Activity.
    • Analyzes, plans, and affects best utilization and management of Disposition Services business operations and resources.
    • Directs staff in innovative approaches to resolving problems and improving processes, and ensures processes are in compliance with applicable laws/policies/regulations and are well documented and regularly maintained.
    • Provides policy direction, technical guidance and administrative coordination to a staff engaged in the accomplishment of Property Management, Reutilization, and Hazardous excess material management.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Auditing and improving end-to-end hazardous materials, reutilization, and disposal processes by integrating data-driven assessments and available analysis tools processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws/policies/regulations. Facilitating business cycle designs for hazardous excess material management and property disposal by applying forecasting methods, and relevant technologies to support agency strategic goals. Providing leadership, technical guidance, and oversight to personnel engaged in hazardous materials, reutilization, and disposal operations using standardized compliance practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
