    Major Duties

    • Serves as Material Management Section Chief at a DLA Aviation industrial site; represents DLA as a supply chain manager to the military customer, a Fleet Readiness Center performing industrial maintenance on Navy weapon systems and equipment.
    • Serves as customer advocate and liaison over all site material supportability issues and represents the customer at internal DLA management level meetings.
    • Directs or participates in studies/surveys to better define, develop and/or improve material management business practices.
    • Maintains liaison with higher level officials and technical personnel of DoD, DLA and other agencies in matters related to new technologies and best practices.
    • Develops, directs and adjusts the implementation of work to accomplish assigned mission and operational functions of material management and storage plans/programs to support the FRC production groups.
    • Directs and guides the development and implementation of new approaches.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience directing or participating in studies/surveys defining, developing and/or improving material management best practices. Experience developing, directing and adjusting the implementation of work for operational functions of material management and storage plans/programs supporting the FRC production groups. Experience developing and implementing new approaches to modify/improve material management business processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
