    Major Duties

    • Manages development and delivery of courses through traditional classroom approaches and nontraditional methods such as distance learning, computer-based training, self-paced training and job aids.
    • Provides expertise and expert technical advice on training initiatives to all echelons of DLA and other agencies as required.
    • Develops short- and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for division programs while developing, implementing, and monitoring utilization of resources.
    • Responsible for technical review and leadership, including problem solving and troubleshooting over the subordinate staff, who are engaged in instructional design, development, delivery, and related work.
    • Collaborates and coordinates with HQ DLA, J-1, Major Subordinate Command HQs and staffs, Process Owners, Sub-Process Owners, program managers, and project officers regarding planning and status of training projects, programs, and initiatives.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Training Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying project management principles and techniques associated with course development, delivery, and maintenance. Providing guidance and training related to training systems and learning programs. Experience with agency missions and requirements to define organizational workforce training and development needs and requirements. Developing short- and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for a training development and delivery organization. Leading, coaching, guiding, and directing the work of subordinates to ensure the efficient/effective accomplishment of assigned functions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
