    Major Duties

    • Serves as project manager and analyst for systems initiatives for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Defense Standard System (DSS) as they relate to (continued on next line)
    • the Distribution Network Process Management Directorate, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution.
    • Project manager and analyst for planning and executing all phases of DLA Distribution Center WMS implementations and WMS program updates that improve and sustain the system during its lifetime.
    • In concert with supervisor, develops command wide guidance and plans.
    • Interprets and clarifies policies and procedures to all levels of management and employees.
    • Collects, tracks, and provides rankings and metrics for system changes.
    • Participates in meetings related to WMS implementations acting as project manager for the directorate.
    • Develops and provides rosters, holds personnel meetings, organizes on-site presence for WMS or other system implementation.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: In concert with supervisor, developing command wide guidance and plan; Analyzing and documenting systems problems; and Communicating on-site implementation challenges to commanders and management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
