    Major Duties

    • Develops, standardizes, and coordinates various aspects of supply management processes and automated supply system functions to include stock control, storage, inspection and their overall relationship to the inventory mission.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves difficult and complex problems associated with a comprehensive supply compliance program with emphasis on providing comprehensive audit readiness/sustainment support.
    • Coordinates with and advises managers, supervisors, and employees regarding audit requirements and expectations in relation to supply programs and distribution operations.
    • Monitors, researches, and analyzes new and changing guidelines, regulations, decisions, and directives to determine effects on distribution operations, programs, and/or internal review operations.
    • Serves as the functional expert facilitating end-to-end business cycle design as fully synchronous with the agency's evolving strategic direction and transformational programs.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing supply and quality program data/interrelationships and coordinating the preparation of accurate and reasonable program plans/proposals Investigating and analyzing transaction flow among supply systems, distribution activities, and work processes in order to research, interpret, and resolve discrepancies; and Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range plans and/or developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of command distribution programs. B. Education Substitution: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
