    Major Duties

    • This position is responsible for serving as the liaison between DLA stakeholders and Information Systems Service Providers to optimize the execution of agreed to engagements.
    • Manages all Information Systems Service Provider Service-Level agreements, providing incident, service request, and escalation, problem, and Service Level Agreement management.
    • Responsible for establishing long-range business planning efforts, priorities and schedules for the office, and is held accountable for achieving corporate goals to achieve the Director, J6's and the Director/Vice Director's vision.
    • Ensures access to sensitive materials complies with security requirements and regulations.
    • Responsible for assigning work to subordinates within the office to meet the corporate vision, goals, and objectives, and assures successful implementation of programs subordinates manage and oversee.
    • Approves overtime, and expenditures related to employee travel, approve employee leave and certifies time and attendance reports, and initiates disciplinary measures.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) your qualifications must include: A. A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Directs a staff of highly technical and administrative personnel engaged in a broad range of Information Technology management functions crucial to the development testing, integration, implementation, surveillance, diagnosis, and maintenance of on-line/automated business management initiatives in/for agency's activities. Demonstrates leadership in providing training opportunities and developmental assignments for subordinate supervisors and team members and lobbying for funds for these programs. Responsible for maintaining internal management controls. Controls assure that obligations and costs are in compliance with applicable laws, and that funds, property, and other assets are safeguarded against waste, loss, and unauthorized use or misappropriation. Internal records assure that revenue and expenditures are properly recorded and accounted for, permitting preparation of sound and reliable financial or inventory reports. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternative, and to make recommendations. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
