    Job Description

    You are obsessed with creating, improving, and maintaining content with the goal of achieving business goals. In this role you will be responsible for developing and managing the content strategy for DNAnexus, including increasing web traffic and brand awareness through the marketing of content online. We’re looking for someone who can lead the planning and execution of shareable content, distributing content on appropriate platforms and measuring the results of the activity.  You will use life sciences domain expertise to develop content aligned with our messaging and positioning targeting pharmaceutical and diagnostics executives. You’re equal parts strategic thinker and great writer/storyteller.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create and deliver on a content strategy and editorial calendar that supports marketing initiatives, and increases our thought leadership and presence in the healthcare and life sciences market.
    • Develop a deep understanding of target personas, creating content specific to the different stages of the buyer's journey, from awareness to engagement and retention. Continuously evolve content strategy based on performance data.
    • Help develop product messaging and positioning solutions through compelling, well-written, and descriptive content that articulates business value and benefits.
    • Design scalable content creation and review processes. Including customer-facing sales decks.
    • Partner with creative and digital marketing to develop multimedia, web, and video content. Also drive the right mix of global and local content, looking for opportunities to elevate local content to a global audience as appropriate.
    • Write marketing materials, including blog posts, social media content, email, digital advertising copy. 
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including, Sales, Science and Product, to support product launches, developing product messaging and content plans for ongoing marketing programs.
    • Ensure meeting the brand essentials in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
    • Develop standards, systems, and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing.
    • Partner with Marketing Operations to conduct regular content audits, including identifying outdated content for archival.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5-8 years of experience in marketing or communications in the healthcare and life sciences industry. Scientific and/or clinical content development, copywriting, marketing or related fields are a big plus.
    • Experience creating compelling messages for different target audiences.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop positive business relationships with all functional areas within DNAnexus.
    • Sound knowledge of content management systems, keyword research tools, social media platforms, SEO/SEM.
    • Clear articulation of the business goals behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content.
    • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
