Patron Services Intern (Fall) Department: Patron Services Location: Brooklyn, NY START YOUR APPLICATION Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, is looking for our Fall Patron Services Intern. Responsibilities Foster a positive relationship between BAM and its Patrons by way of VIP ticket fulfillment and specialized customer service. Fulfill Patron requests, including ticket orders, RSVPs and member renewals; and disseminate Patron information as appropriate with the rest of the Patron Services Department, Development, and the Box Office. Distribute performance tickets to Patrons at weeknight and weekend shows, greeting VIPs and providing any pertinent information post-show to MGOs and the development staff at large. Strategically determine Patron seating for performances and events. Participate in all day-to-day functions of the Patron Services office (ticket distribution at the Patron Table, ticket orders and reservations via phone, event RSVPs, membership renewals, and general inquiries and), and manage Patron Services e-mail inbox. Determine seating for performances and events. Assist in gala seating and logistics process. Make calls to event invitees to follow up on attendance. Disseminate guest-lists and reservations for performances and events to the executive staff. Distribute tickets for main-stage performances at the Patron Table and troubleshoot any ticketing issues. Assist with special events logistics including opening night parties, galas and dinners. Maintain office ticket logs including the Presidents ticket log and the log for mailed tickets. Assume event captain responsibilities for various events throughout the season, managing inventory and submitting special requests to Production throughout. Analyze Patron ticketing data from past seasons and conduct relevant research to improve Patron Services operations and efficiency. Attend BAM performances. Minimum Qualifications Administrative experience and telephone experience required (three months minimum). Must be able to work late, irregular hours and weekends. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to important organizational partners. Proficiency in coordinating event details. Interest in BAM programming. Interest in working at a performing arts/non-profit organization. Ability to think strategically (primarily regarding troubleshooting and seating). Preferred Qualifications Customer-service oriented. Computer literacy required familiarity with Microsoft Office and knowledge of Tessitura or related database programs preferred. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills. Competency in problem-solving. Must be able to work as part of a team. Detail-oriented. Ability to multi-task. Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
