Community Programs Internship Department: Government & Community Affairs Location: Brooklyn, NY START YOUR APPLICATION BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideasengaging both global and local communities. With world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more, BAM showcases the work of emerging artists and innovative modern masters. The Community Programs Intern will provide support for Community Programs screenings, public programs and events including BAMboo, Black Comix, Dance Africa Bazaar, Reel Impact and Community Leaders events and others as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide preparatory support for BAMboo, Black Comix, Dance Africa, etc., including but not limited to coordination of catering and materials order. Assist in researching community organizations and people for audience connections related to Reel Impact Documentary Series and other Community Programs initiatives Assist with set-up and break down of events. Assist with hospitality, check-in and other on-site needs. Assist Operations staff with project related tasks including file organization, system building, reporting and evaluation. Data entry, filing and spreadsheet management (including internal review of constituent information in Tessitura database). Document and maintain attendance of on-site and off-site programming. Minimum Qualifications Excellent customer service skills Ability to multi-task Knowledge of Mac and PC platforms Some evening and weekend work required Preferred Qualifications Experience with Tessitura Application Instructions: must complete an online application through BAM's website - no phone calls, emails or walk ins, please.
