    Kelaca is looking for a Software Developer (Java) for our client partner for a remote position.

    The Company, headquartered in North Carolina, operates in the Public Safety 9-1-1 call center telecommunications market, which represents one of the largest, most dynamic markets in transition in the world. This is an opportunity for you to join a growing organization and contribute to the Company’s success as they execute their corporate strategies.

    They are seeking a Software Developer to enhance and extend their emerging Company product solutions, as well as to develop new and compelling product offerings that will significantly enhance their presence in both the carrier and public safety space in the United States. The Company’s solutions are at the forefront of the transition to the Next Generation 9-1-1 standards which will be implemented by public safety institutions across the country.

    Job Purpose:

    The Software Developer (Java) will be part of the team that produces the core products for The Company. These include the “Functional Elements” of the NG9-1-1 architecture that route emergency calls through this new network architecture, as well as the call-taking applications that are used in the emergency call centers. The team uses the Agile development process for producing the core products for The Company. As part of the team, the software developer will be responsible to work on various tasks ranging from fixing a defect, implementing portion(s) of a new feature or implementing an entire new feature.

    Core Requirements:

    • Programming languages experience: Java (5-10 years) (Version 8+ for at least 1 year) required
    • Relational database experience (SQL, etc) (3-5years)
    • OO fundamentals (SOLID principles and familiarity with dependency injection) and expertise (5-10 years)
    • Familiarity with Unit and Integration testing practices
    • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

    Highly Desirable Skills:

    • Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) IETF RFC 3261 - defined signaling protocol
    • Source Code Control (TFS, GIT, etc.)
    • Package management (Maven, NuGet)
    • IDE (Eclipse)
    • Application Server (Wildfly, JBOSS)
    • Experience developing applications on Microsoft and Linux servers and/or clients
    • SIP Telephony Experience (Oracle OCCAS, Avaya Aura, eZuce, FreePBX)
    • Regression testing / use case or story board development / Quality Assurance
    • Software defect identification, resolution, and reporting

    VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: This is a remote position without travel requirements, however the employee is encouraged to follow the CDC guidelines to keep themselves safe from the virus.

    Hours of Work in Office: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm

    FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
