Kelaca is looking for Senior Full Stack Developer (36+ Month Contract) for our client partner in Raleigh, NC. You will have experience with Linux OS for a position developing and improving a weapon effects software architecture for an advanced physics-based computational system. This system will be deployed for use in the Department of Defense. You will have a strong passion and background in full-stack, software development and making quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle.
As a valued contributor to the project team, your responsibilities will include (1) defining incremental improvements to deploy current R&D weapon effects software architecture to technology readiness level (TRL) 8 (2) working in an agile team environment to improve and deploy TRL 8 software in Windows and Linux test environments, and (3) making design and technology recommendations for future cloud-based deployments. Additionally, you will support the integration of computational, analysis, and visualization capabilities into this environment.
What you’ll do as a Senior Full Stack Developer
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be part of an Agile team working all aspects of software development including discovery, design, coding, unit testing, and documentation. Candidates will be focused on integrating new modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities including physics-based models, code refactoring, and compiling code for Linux and Windows based OS to achieve a high level of software robustness and stability. The development will cover full-stack development, from architecture design, model integration and development, refactoring, user interface design and development, visualization of results and data, and automation test development. Candidates will work directly with our customers, external teams, and other programs to cross-integrate capabilities.
Senior Full Stack Developer Requirements
Candidate requirements include experience in full-stack software development and programming in Java and C++ within Agile teams using Git, Eclipse, Visual Studio, and JIRA. Compiling and developing for Linux OS and generating .cmake files for build scripts is also a requirement. Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of the front-end and back-end of IT system architectures. This position requires a BS in Computer Science or similar with a minimum of 7 years of work experience, or MS with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. This position also requires candidates to be US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance.
Senior Full Stack Developer Preferences
Candidate preferences include active security clearance, experience with weapon effects, or other related DoD software systems and models and expertise with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and information assurance/information security activities. Interest in data science, data analysis, data visualization, and mathematical algorithms is a plus. Familiarity with containerization and infrastructure technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift is also a preference.
Education Requirements
Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred: Masters or better in Computer Science or related field.
Experience Required
1 year: C++ programming experience
2-3 years: Experience with Linux OS, compiling code for Linux and executing software on Linux systems
7-9 years: Relevant work experience
5+ years: Java programming experience
