Kelaca is looking for a Software Engineer-Frontend Web UI/UX Consultant for a long-term consultancy for our client partner in Raleigh, NC. The successful candidate for this position will have a strong passion and background in making quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle. You will be part of a team developing software used by the military and defense communities for planning operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will use your expertise in UI/UX design to develop native and web applications that help users solve real world problems.
• You will work with customers to understand and elicit requirements and build intuitive, interactive, and flexible user interfaces that address complex problems
• You will design, develop, and test software from concept to deployment and operations, collaborating with other software engineers. Understanding software development best practices is strongly desired.
• You will be working closely with a collaborative team so your team player personality and excellent written/oral communication skills will be essential.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in both software engineering and graphic design.

Skills and Experience:

• BS or MS in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
• 3-7 years relevant work experience
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Relocation to Raleigh NC; this position involves minimal travel for collaboration with customers and partners
  

Preferred Experience:

• Proven ability to design clear and intuitive user interfaces for complex problems using mockups, wireframes, sketches, and other artifacts.
• Experience with desktop GUI frameworks (such as Qt).
• Experience with web UI and application frameworks like Angular, React, and Vue.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C++, C#, etc.).
• Familiarity with cognitive task analyses, user-centered design, and usability testing.
• Ability to do proof-of-concept designs and rapidly prototype ideas
• Demonstrated experience in developing web applications using front end frameworks
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD workflows
  

Security Clearance Requirements:

The projects that will be assigned involve government work and US Citizenship is required. Selected applicant will be subject to a US Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Hours of On-Site Work: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm

FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
