Kelaca is partnering with a fast-scaling technology innovator based in Raleigh, NC to find a Mobile Development Director ready to lead at the intersection of enterprise software, heavy industry, and product-driven transformation.
This is a true leadership role. Not only will you be leading the team, you’ll also be accountable for the architecture, design, and user experience of the company’s mobile offerings. Additionally, the leadership aspects of this role aren’t confined to your team. You’ll regularly interface with company stakeholders as well as customers so excellent communication and collaboration is critical.
You’ll report directly to the CTO and lead a skilled mobile engineering team that’s defining how scalable, human-centered mobile tools are built, tested, and improved. What Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, success in this role would:
- Create a high-performing mobile team that consistently ships quality features on time
- Deliver mobile software that is performant and scalable
- Streamline development activities with clear metrics and visible burn-downs
- Oversee technical decisions across React Native, Swift, Kotlin, and MAUI
- Drive UX improvements by improving simplification and reducing clicks/screens

What You'll Do:
You’ll lead the engineering team responsible for building mobile solutions that power real-world operations for some of the most well known companies on the planet.
Leadership & Team Performance
- Oversee the team and the associated org structure
- Lead decision making for critical product decisions (Ex. performance, scalability, user experience, etc)
- Create, utilize, and distribute metrics that indicate sprint velocity and release tracking
Development Execution & Architecture
- Ensure Jira is up to date to show current sprint and release metrics
- Leverage Jira to steer the team to meet their commitments by making trade-off decisions (working in collaboration with product management and professional services)
- Champion product quality and the practices to create high quality software (code reviews, testing – unit/integration/automated, story hygiene, etc)
- Ensure architecture is performant, scalable, and aligned with platform strategy
- Own the user experience for our mobile solutions by inspiring the team to push for a world-class user experience
- Advocate for mobile UX – ensuring every screen reflects intuitive design and industrial usability
- Build deep partnerships with Product, QA, and cross-functional teams
- Stay current on Company’s product roadmap and ensure mobile strategy aligns
- Collaborate on planning and investment decisions that support long-term platform evolution

Skills, Experience, and Tools That Matter
Must-Haves:
- 7+ years of technical leadership in mobile development
- Proven success managing mobile engineers across multiple projects and stacks
- Experience with React Native and native mobile (Swift, Kotlin, C#/.Net, MAUI)
- Strong OOP fundamentals and architectural pattern fluency
- History of delivering quality apps at enterprise scale
- High EQ leadership with coaching mindset
- SaaS or enterprise software experience
- Utilization of AI to increase velocity – be a champion of AI utilization (Source code, testing scripts, etc.)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with operational technology or plant maintenance systems
