    Job Description

The Data Insights and Analytics team aims to support and scale to the vast, varied, and dynamic analytical needs of Pluralsight. We do so in a variety of strategic ways. Included amongst those is our deployment of Analytics Engineers to each major functional area of the business. Our Analytics Engineers are full-stack analytics unicorns who are capable of expertly curating datasets, analyses, and dashboards that extend everyone’s ability to truly make Pluralsight a data-driven company.

As one of the leaders of the Pluralsight Data Insights and Analytics organization, you will be responsible for orchestrating continuity and collaboration for a multitude of Analytics Engineers, specifically focusing on the varied and voluminous data needs of our Marketing organization, across a variety of functional areas. You will lead our efforts to provide expertly-curated data and deep insights to our Marketing teams: Digital, Brand, Product Marketing, Business Development, MarTech, Field and Events, and so on.

In this role, you will lead a team of individual contributors. As such, you will need to expertly create a powerful and consistent balance between the “player” and “coach” roles that will be required of you. So while this is a leadership position, it is also a hands-on technical role that will require an ability to help others derive value from our data and the tools we employ to do so.

The perfect applicant for this role will have a strong ability to lead, develop and mentor a team, as well as guide others through the data and analytics environments. You will work collaboratively to develop a consistent and aligned approach to providing data and analytical insights, and those insights will help drive us to meet business-critical objectives across the entirety of Marketing.

    WHO YOU'RE COMMITTED TO BEING:

    • You are a systems thinker who habitually looks for upgrades in the way you deliver value to your customers
    • You are a powerful leader of others, focused on communication, empowerment, learning, and accountability
    • You have an outstanding ability to conceive of, develop, and operationalize analytics solutions to business problems
    • You recognize that organizational “data literacy” is harder to achieve than most would lead you to believe
    • You are creative and opportunistic in your ability to communicate technical complexity to non-technical individuals
    • You are courageous and thoughtful in your willingness to have challenging conversations with customers, team members, and other leaders

    WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

    • Work to create a consistent and effective support structure (i.e., tooling, functional responsibilities, types of deliverables) for the varied analytics needs of the Marketing teams
    • Help lead efforts to devise and implement scalable, sustainable solutions that bring together disparate data from a variety of sources, both internal and external
    • Meet frequently with leaders and analysts throughout the Marketing and Strategy orgs to understand the landscape of problems we’re attempting to solve
    • Interface closely with Strategy & Operations, Data Science, Data Engineering & Operations, Business Technology, as well as other operational teams within the business to create cross-functional relationships that lead to a broad and deep understanding of company data needs
    • Promote and provide training based on industry best practices in data visualization and analytics engineering
    • Maintain an ability to leverage the tools that Pluralsight employs to derive analytical insights.
    • Support end users on ad hoc data usage and be a subject matter expert on the functional side of the business
    • Coaching and mentorship of team members

    EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED:

    • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to senior, non-technical leaders and stakeholders
    • Deep experience providing analytics support to Sales, Marketing, or a similar functional area
    • Strong ability to coalesce, prioritize, and communicate objectives to all stakeholders
    • Demonstrated expertise in data curation, data transformation and data visualization
    • Leadership experience that illustrates an ability to analyze and improve oneself as well as team members
    • Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices
