Job Description
The Vice President, Enterprise Applications will be responsible for the company’s global Applications architecture and business processes. In this capacity, the role will partner with the business in setting strategic and tactical direction to the IT organization that provides business systems for global functions including Sales, Marketing, People, Data, Professional Services, Customer Care, CSM, Renewals and Maintenance, Legal, Tax, Finance and other departments. This role also ensures that platform strategies are aligned with Go-to-market strategies and corporate goals and management of the ecosystem within industry aligned cost models. This individual will be a senior member of the CIO staff. The successful candidate should have a solid track record of delivering complex projects across the value chain, building effective business partnerships, leading business process / IT transformation initiatives, and cost management while ensuring a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork to achieve common goals. Experience scaling the enterprise application stack from $300M to $1B.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
- Lead and inspire the application development team to engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritize projects and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.
- Run business applications for corporate function applications (ERP, CRM – Goto market applications, Sales, People, PS, Customer care, etc.)
- Remove obstacles, close gaps and manage and mitigate risks to ensure delivery on time, on budget and with impeccable quality.
- Define multi-year investment roadmap in alignment with IT cost models that delivers tangible/bottom line business value.
- Lead a team managing all aspects of applications implementation and delivery across multiple functions, business units and business lines. Manage the Technical Directors and provide guidance as they lead their teams and set prioritization.
- Works closely with the IT Leadership team and provides technical leadership to set corporate technology strategy and investment.
- Effectively initiate, plan, schedule, control, and bring to closure multiple high priority projects.
- Develop and lead a collaborative and Agile software development approach that improves velocity, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability.
- Drive the cultural changes necessary to enable a continuous delivery model and foster a strong focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Foster a strong customer service mind-set throughout the applications team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business.
- Partner with business leaders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with overall Applications and business processes
- Seek out, validate, and bring to the technology organization innovative best practices and ideas from the outside, with an emphasis on application development methodologies.
- Identify emerging technology trends, especially in the area of SaaS and cloud computing, and ensure the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
- Develop, implement and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, SOX, GDPR, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
- Manage application vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to procure resources and technology solutions to meet the company’s strategic objectives.
- Recruit, develop and retain high caliber software development talent, especially for key leadership positions, and develop a succession plan.
- Implement and champion a robust professional development program, and continuously upskill team members to keep them current.
- Evaluate team members performance, provide candid feedback and high impact coaching that enables (and motivates) them to achieve departmental as well as enterprise goals.
EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED:
- A minimum of 10 years in software development, project management, process development and resource management.
- 10+ years of technical execution experience in both enterprise business systems and data center infrastructure in a globally distributed company. S/he should know ERP/CRM areas well and how to meet S&OP, SOX and PCI compliance demands as well.
- Proven and current experience in the salesforce environment (sales cloud, service cloud, marketing cloud, etc), Configure-Price-Quote tool, Zuora SAAS and subscription billing, Pricing and software bundling, Entitlements & Renewals in Salesforce, Contracts and related lifecycle management
- Has successfully led the development and delivery of multiple complex business technology solutions into production that have achieved or surpassed business goals.
- Experience developing and supporting mission critical applications optimized to run in the cloud environments.
- Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology.
- Expertise with managing application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and Scrum.
- Has knowledge of emerging trends and developments in PaaS, SaaS, cloud, AI, machine learning and other digital technologies.
- A minimum of 10 years working in the Software industry, contact center experience a plus.
- Visible leadership skills and executive presence.
- Able to attract, develop and retain talent and build high performing software development teams.
- Skilled at setting and communicating priorities effectively; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to step into projects already in progress, or in need of rescue, and effectively assume a leadership role.
- Vendor negotiations.
- Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.
- Master of Science in Computer sci or equivalent degree preferred. An MBA a plus.
- 10+ years of management experience with 8+ at VP/Director level application responsibility
- NetSuite, Salesforce.com, Workday, Anaplan, Concur, Coupa, RevPro, Marketo, Avalara, Okta, Gainsight, MuleSoft, DocuSign, Zuora, CPQ, Seismic, Zendesk, Splunk, DiscoverOrg, etc.
