    The ELC Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability (GCCS) team partners with our brands, regions, affiliates, functions, and channels to help build a more beautiful and sustainable world. The GCCS ESG (environment, social, governance) Team leads internal and external ESG reporting and disclosure; ESG data consolidation, validation, and controls; and engagement with key stakeholders including external ESG ratings and rankings organizations and ESG-focused investors.

    The Associate, ESG Reporting will support data consolidation, management, and process enhancement as related to the company’s annual social impact and sustainability (SI&S) reporting and ESG data quality control initiatives. This includes maintaining and enhancing internal data collection via the ESG Data Platform (CCS) and leading the consolidation of ESG data and metrics from across the enterprise for internal and external reporting. In addition, the Associate will support processes for the external assurance and internal auditing of data, as well as ongoing development of and refinements to internal controls frameworks for ESG data.

    Manage and support internal and external ESG reporting (50%):

    • Manage the consolidation of ESG data and metrics (including as related to goals and commitments) for inclusion in the external annual SI&S Report, using various ELC data systems and the ESG Data Platform. Collaborate with data owners and SMEs to ensure timely, complete, and accurate disclosure.
    • Support pre-assurance and assurance engagements with the company’s external auditor. Lead the annual Internal Audit engagement by serving as the primary liaison to the IA team, ensuring all ESG metrics have been validated and are ready for the audit process.
    • Oversee the quarterly collection, consolidation, verification, and timely submission of internal and external ESG goal progress metrics. Liaise with the Goal Governance team to ensure accuracy across all elements of internal goal reports.

    Data Quality and Controls (40%)

    • Support the ESG data governance strategy through data quality initiatives. These may include data quality KPI tracking, drafting of SI&S data review materials, documentation of ESG data review procedures, and working with data owners to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Support the development of an enterprise-wide ESG risk control framework and track ongoing risk and enhancement opportunities to evolve ESG data quality.
    • Support the evolution of reporting to comply with emerging global regulatory disclosure standards and help accelerate ESG data collection processes to align with financial reporting timelines.

    Support administration and strategic enhancement of the ESG Data Platform (10%)

    • Provide administrative support for the internal ESG Data Platform including system maintenance, data entry, and the creation of analytics and dashboards.
    • Configure system enhancements to drive improvements in data quality and optimize data consolidation. Work with data owners ensure all ESG data is collected and validated in the platform prior to external reporting.
    • Collaborate with data owners and the Manager, ESG Data Analytics to continuously optimize system processes and controls.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in ESG-related or financial accounting related roles
    • Experience working in data science, data management, internal controls, audit and/or accounting preferred
    • Experience working with ESG reporting standards (e.g. GRI, SASB, etc.) preferred
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and produce clear, concise and organized summaries
    • Works quickly and efficiently, anticipates and meets deadlines; remains calm under pressure
    • Collaborative and team player mindset; good listener and builder of strong relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,500 to $90,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
