    POSITION SUMMARY

    Effectively manage the execution of all global launch initiatives for the assigned business category from inception of project to shipment of product through the Supply Chain organization, ensuring costs and inventory management objectives are met. Coaches’ members of team and provides necessary direction regarding all pertinent tasks within area of responsibility. Manage the development and execution of the non-saleable launch support elements on a timely basis including samples, displays, and collateral.  Assigned to special project as deemed necessary by VP and/or ED based on Corporate Initiatives. Identify, communicate, and participate in the resolution of critical areas of risk, and related mitigation strategies, to senior Brand, Regional and Supply Chain leadership on a timely basis. 

    KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • On a timely basis, effectively manage the execution of all global launch initiatives for the assigned business category from inception of project to shipment of product through the Supply Chain organization, ensuring costs and inventory management objectives are met.
    • The Global Brand Supply Chain, Director of NPL is responsible for New Product Launch (NPL) project management. Responsible for project managing new Brand innovations, including new product launches, limited life programs (e.g., Holiday sets, GWP) and sampling programs.
    • Project and Program Management:  Sets clear objectives for project initiatives while monitoring and measuring progress and results. 
    •  Understands end to end processes required to get things done; respects decision rights; delivers initiatives on time and on budget; and manages resources required to achieve results.  Knows how to influence people and prioritize activities.
    • Risk Management:  Identifies the probability and impact of all enterprise risks associated with the GSC function and its processes: suppliers, commercial, legal, operational, regulatory, ethical & reputation, financial, environmental, technological and people. 
    • Develops management and mitigation strategies as appropriate.
    • Joint Value Creation: Formulates win-win plans and executes them more effectively and efficiently by focusing resources to the areas of highest returns in partnership with key stakeholders (brands, suppliers, customers).
    • Brand Equity:  Engages and collaborates as a business partner with Brand teams to clearly understand business requirements and offer solutions and opportunities to solve critical business needs while creating value.
    • Continuous Improvement: Efforts to remain competitive by identifying areas needed for transformational change within the function or organization.  Includes initiatives to improve the product, process, technology, and/or services to see incremental or breakthrough improvements resulting in stronger business results. Shares best practices and/or trainings across the function.
    • Market Intelligence and Operational Response: Identifies market trends and operationalizes capabilities. Partners with stakeholders by recognizing, influencing, and communicating changes that will impact the business and converting it into action within the Supply Chain.
    • Directs the efficient and effective execution of new projects and Marketing initiatives to the global marketplace for a category segment. Provides guidance to GBSC team and relevant colleagues as necessary in the development and monitoring of projects using all necessary systems.
    • Initiates and/or manages systems as required for assigned projects, which could include the Global Coding System, TLM, SAP, Marketing Bulletins, IMW offerings, etc.
    • Develops appropriate timelines, ensuring consensus of milestone dates within business category including Marketing, Packaging, R&D, Product Development, Creative, Branded Supply Management, and Manufacturing.
    • Develop talent and capabilities of the team, lead training and onboarding for new members
    • Assist in preparation and participate in Brand and/or SIOP meetings.
    • Resolves all timeline issues and develops tactical plans when missed due dates occur to bring project back on track. Identifies and communicates critical issues and next steps/resolution to Management.
    • Drives critical milestone dates with Marketing, Product Development, Packaging, Creative, R&D, Brand Cost Management in all areas as they relate to product-to-market timelines.
    • Leads and participates in regularly scheduled meetings to review projects with core project team (Marketing, Packaging, Creative, Product Development, R&D, Site, Supply Planning, GSR); identifies next action steps and decisions required by Senior Management to move programs forward.
    • Work in tandem with Executive Director of NPL to identify the need for contingency planning and execute via corporate procedure.
    • Provide input as it relates to feasibility/preliminary costing process for new projects and value analysis, if applicable.  Investigate and help resolve issues with focus factories / cost accounting.
    • Act as liaison between Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Development, R&D, Packaging, and Creative in all areas relating to the product-to-market timeline.
    • Follow up with other departments to ensure delivery on commitment or project requirements.
    • Liaise with International markets about execution or service issues relating to projects.
    • Communicate and take action on launch and supply information activities to all related stakeholders on global and regional basis (e.g., Demand, New Product, Resource, Supply Planning, Customer Service, and Markets).
    • Partner with Regulatory and Legal on all issues regarding product registration and communicate with markets regarding their new launch needs.  Direct R&D, Packaging, and Creative to provide registration lab samples and comps to meet local registration deadlines.
    • Participate in and prepare Hot List and Recap for bi-weekly PPD meeting (led by Marketing)
    • Provide input for Senior Leadership documentation for bi-weekly Sr. PPD meeting (risk elevation).

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Education level: College / University degree required.
    • Minimum Years of Experience: 10+ years of New Product Project Management experience, ideally in cosmetics or related industry.
    • Required Language Proficiency: English
    • Licenses or Certifications: PMP Preferred
    • Proven Leadership and Decision-Making capabilities.
    • Highly analytical - analyzes & utilizes facts effectively for presentation to decision makers. 
    • Strong Communication – expressing ideas effectively in individual and group situations.
    • High level of interaction with senior management; Knows how to influence people and prioritize activities.
    • Teamwork/Collaboration – Encourages interdependency while holding others accountable.
    • Organizational Skills- ability to successfully manage multiple accountabilities simultaneously.
    • Coaching - Ability to train and Develop working teams.
    • Ability to use computer systems necessary to meet department objectives including; Excel, Word, SAP, IBM, AMAPS, AS400, Online Costing, EXOB, Global Coding, PDS, TLM, CPMS and IMW.
