Ethics & Policy Governance Program Director
The Estee Lauder Companies (“ELC”) Ethics & Compliance program is dedicated to promoting an organizational culture of ethical business conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law. The Ethics & Policy Governance Program Director will serve as a key member of the ELC Ethics team and lead a centralized function of Ethics & Policy governance.
This role will refine ELC’s ethics and policy governance strategy, develop a framework around policy governance, training and education and help operationalize the goals of ELC’s Ethics & Compliance Committee. Key responsibilities include:
CODE OF CONDUCT AND POLICIES:
Create a framework to manage and project manage the Code and the supplemental policies underpinning the Code
Project manage the development and translation and distribution of the Code of Conduct and policies
Develop and manage a review cycle and archives for both the Code and each core global policy
Identify each core policy “owner” and relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts for core policies and the Code.
Determine a policy acknowledgment process and implement same, including recommending which policies should be acknowledged and working with HR to identify employees in scope
Develop and manage an approval process regarding certain core policy exceptions
Research and leverage technology tools to develop and maintain a policy management system and other tools to support the Ethics function
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Refine ELC’s strategy around training and education for the Code and the supplemental policies
Determine which policies and associated training should be prioritized
Work with HR to identify critical employees who need to participate in the training
Establish and manage a coordinated training calendar
Establish a consistent approach to training rollouts
Ensure satisfactory levels of completion
Manage other awareness and education campaigns
Leverage data & analytics to help inform approach to training and education
Conduct industry research and maintain ongoing awareness of program trends.
Prepare content of Code training, as well as supplemental training on core policies, in connection with SMEs
Facilitate RFP processes as necessary. Select and manage third-party training provider
MANAGE HELPLINE & ETHICS SITE
Develop and manage Helpline
Select and manage third-party helpline provider
Oversee status and resolution of Helpline issues
Develop guidance for use of Helpline and investigations
Monitor Ethics email box and respond or assign as appropriate
Enhance the Ethics intranet site to more dynamic content
REPORTING, DATA & ANALYTICS
Review and analyze data on Code inquiries and complaints and track outcomes
Prepare reports and presentations for the Ethics & Compliance Committee and other stakeholders
Leverage analytics to look at trends through various and increase reporting to HR and other key stakeholders
Additional miscellaneous work as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong commitment to integrity, ethical business conduct and compliance with the law. Interest in ethics and legal topics
Exercises good judgment, and is highly organized, process-driven, detail-oriented, responsible and conscientious
Excellent project/program management skills
IT savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office and especially PowerPoint
Familiarity with learning management systems, and an ability to quickly learn new technology, systems and programs
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and confidential matters in a highly discrete and sensitive manner. Good time and resource management skills
Friendly and professional with an ability to interface with executive and non-executive colleagues across the globe. Possesses a high level of social and emotional intelligence
Highly resourceful, self-starter, driven, willingness to grow and learn new skills
Intercultural awareness and sensitivity
Experience with developing and executing on RFPs through a procurement process
Desire for continuous learning and professional development
