The Manager role supports our senior executives in developing the direction and implementation of category and innovation strategy to gain market share. The role is responsible to define and implement key short and long term strategic priorities for consumer, trend, benefits and innovation pipeline by enabling a deep understanding and foresight of the prestige beauty industry to drive tremendous growth for the Estée Lauder Companies.
Category Leadership
Support the development of 3-year market projections for category and the brand ambitions across the category
Plays a key role in the category strategy development process, supporting senior management in enabling Brands, Regions and Functions to achieve objectives
Lead the end to end project management of market and category analysis including scoping of analysis, establish hypothesizes with senior leadership and cross-functional teams and delivering pertinent and actionable insights to Brands and Functions
Develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct category analyses and develop category foresight actioned via a clear where to play / how to win set of choices that drive category market share gains
Enable enterprise to play its portfolio against big, fast growing and new trends by enabling Brands to make strategic bets by creating, reacting to and predicting opportunities through a deeper understanding of category insights, internal and external technology assets, macroeconomic forces and global and local Beauty trends
Assess short- and long-term gaps vs. strategic plans, pipelines and execution (Innovation, Marketing and Supply Chain sufficiency) to drive product innovation and commercial activation
Track and govern the deployment and execution of key strategic initiatives by designing metrics and KPIs and drive actionable analytics against scorecard and company goal
Present to c-suite leadership on Brand actions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA highly desirable
4-6 years’ experience in a strategy role. Finance, Investment Banking, Management consulting and/or Consumer Strategy preferable.
Mandarin proficiency highly desirable
The ideal candidate must have:
Develop and build excel models to build financial projection backed by key assumptions
Highly developed strategic thinking, influencing skills, flexibility, strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication
Ability to work independently and proactively with all levels of the organization
Ability to handle a heavy workload with competing priorities
Create and deliver succinct Power Point presentations to communicate insights and strategy concisely to stakeholders
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to shift focus, multi-task, and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work cross-functions / Regions / Brands and effectively interact with all ELC departments
Strong connections with key points of contact and / or capable of creating / developing cross ELC relationships
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,500 to $135,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
