    ABOUT GLOBAL CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY (GCCS):

    The Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability (GCCS) function is responsible for understanding and managing the economic, social and environmental impacts that are created by the company’s operations and decisions along its value chain. By strengthening enterprise policies, establishing baselines, and identifying future goals and targets for our brands, regions and functions, GCCS helps the organization to better manage risks, reduce or avoid costs, and build on our heritage of corporate social responsibility.

     

    The Global Corporate Communications, Citizenship and Sustainability team within GCCS drives an integrated communications strategy to increase global awareness and recognition of ELC‘s leadership in areas related to social impact and sustainability.

     

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Manager, Global Corporate Communications, Social Impact plays a critical role in the day-to-day development and execution of integrated communications to support the company’s enterprise social and environmental strategy. This role will partner closely with the Director, Global Corporate Communications, Citizenship & Sustainability, to develop and execute a 360-degree, integrated communications strategy to increase global awareness and recognition of the company’s social impact initiatives, partnerships and goals. This role will drive awareness of social investments from the company, The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation (ELCCF) and its grantees as part of the company’s broader social impact strategy. This includes communications of philanthropic partnerships through ELCCF with a particular focus on women’s and girls’ education and advancement, health, environment, and the integration of inclusion, diversity and equity across all of ELCCF’s grantmaking. This position may also support work on ELC's Breast Cancer Campaign (BCC), a separate workstream, during busy periods of the year in the BCC calendar.

     

    This position will also oversee and manage an integrated communications strategy for the GCCS Employee Experience team, driving awareness of various signature social impact and sustainability employee programs such as ELC Good Works, the company’s global charitable donations and volunteerism program, to enhance awareness and embed a culture of purpose by mobilizing and engaging employees to advance this work across the business and in the communities where they live and work.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner with Director, Global Corporate Communications, Citizenship & Sustainability, to develop and execute an integrated communications strategy to drive stakeholder awareness of ELC’s social impact strategy, objectives and goals.
    • Lead development of materials for a full range of communications needs (internal/external) including, but not limited to briefs, press releases, key messages, toolkits and executive talking points, ensuring communications messages are consistent across all mediums.
    • Manage communications of various social impact projects, overseeing agency partners and working closely with key internal/external stakeholders (Global Corporate Communications/GCCS colleagues and NGOs), to advance awareness of priority social investments and philanthropic partnerships.
    • Ensure successful communication to key stakeholder groups (employees, consumers, investors, etc.) to demonstrate progress towards ESG goals.
    • Identify, monitor and analyze communications KPIs, through qualitative and quantitative mechanisms, for all campaigns and leverage to inform strategy and direction.
    • Provide strategic consultation and support to ELC’s family of brands, regions and functions in their tailored communication of enterprise employee social and environmental programs, as well as the localization of philanthropic activities and partnerships.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    CANDIDATE PROFILE:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of communications experience in-house or agency - corporate social responsibility and/or corporate communications is a plus.
    • Exceptional written and verbal skills, attention to detail and ability to distill and present complex information into clear, concise and engaging communications.
    • Highly motivated and mission-driven social impact communications professional with strong global knowledge of or experience with philanthropic giving in areas related to girls’ education, women’s economic participation in the workforce, women’s leadership, breast cancer and/or inclusion, diversity and equity grantmaking strongly preferred.
    • The candidate has a pulse on current philanthropic and social impact trends globally to help inform and drive authentic, compelling and modern corporate communications and also has an eye for the aesthetics of beautiful content creation/curation.
    • Excellent project management, organization and strategic thinking skills with the ability to execute multiple, simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment with quality results.
    • Team player with a self-starer mindset and strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, including high-touch stakeholder engagement and the ability to work effectively across cultures and with Executive Management.
    • Ability to adapt and prioritize effectively around changing deadlines, and flexibility to support other business functions and programs when required such as The Breast Cancer Campaign, ELC’s largest corporate social impact program.
    • Ability to handle highly confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgment.
