    POSITION SUMMARY

    The HR Business Partner position is responsible for leading a broad range of HR responsibilities for the Northtec Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain population, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, change management, leadership development, engagement, compensation, and employee programs.  Understands the Northtec and Global Supply Chain business strategy and ensures alignment between HR activities and the strategic priorities of the function.  Collaborates with Site Leadership to develop and implement a localized HR Strategy. Work with HR Centers of Excellence to focus on transforming and standardizing critical HR processes and procedures.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Employee Relations and Engagement (30%)

    • Establish strong partnerships with Site leadership and employees in support of developing the optimal culture to drive high performance, retention and engagement.

    • Develop and cultivate active, two-way communications with all levels of employees in all functions on all shifts to maintain and enhance positive employee relations.  Conduct regular visits to Plant Operations areas during day, evening, and night shifts.   

    • Coach and develop to resolve all performance and other employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and partnering with Legal when necessary.

    • Provides confidential opportunities for employees to discuss their concerns.  Advocates for employees when needed.

    • Uses judgment when issues require intervention/elevation to the next level of management

    • Coach employees and supervisors on appropriate responses and give advice on how to handle sensitive matters

    • Aid in the writing of formal disciplinary documents

    Recruitment (20%)

    • Leads recruitment efforts for designated population and partners with the Talent Acquisition team on recruiting efforts.

    • Work closely with appropriate contacts to develop recruitment processes and practices, in line with HR Strategy.

    • Works with Compensation to develop candidate offers

     

    Training & Development (10%)

    • Identify requirements for training and design and courses as necessary, in line with the HR Strategy.

    • Use data, reporting and analysis to understand strengths and areas of opportunity for people practices, developing strategic and tactical programs as necessary. (I.e. employee engagement, reward and recognition, etc.)

    • Partners with Plant leadership to drive ongoing Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives onsite

    Performance and Development (20%)

    • Lead performance development, merit, bonus processes for assigned employees ensuring training, communication on process and timelines and assisting with all phases of the year end process to ensure timely and accurate completion

    • Support the Talent Planning program

    • Identify and provide success planning opportunities, feedback and guidance to appropriate managers as it relates to the Company Performance Management process

     

    Process and Procedure (20%)

    • Keep current and well informed on external and internal HR best practices.

    • Provide education and guidance to managers and employees on Company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.

    • Identify and define new processes and procedures for the Site where necessary

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Human Resources functional delivery.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong computer skills with MS office, HR Systems (Taleo, Oracle or similar HR systems), and business analytics applications (i.e. Tableau, Perceptyx)

    • Ability to handle matters of a highly confidential nature; perceptive; understands priorities, anticipates, detailed oriented, accurate and organized.

    • Demonstrates problem solving skills.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in project management.

    • Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 

    • Must be available to meet with evening and late shifts as needed.
