  • Responsibilities

    The Data Analytics Lead conducts data analysis and audit activities in support of internal audits and related projects. Leverages internal audit and data analysis skills and business knowledge to help identify, quantify, and assess processes through the timely collection, validation, and analysis of data from a variety of sources. Delivers reporting and analyses that support internal audit plans and projects and assists in the development enhanced data analytics and related audit capabilities.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Initiate and manage data acquisition, including extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) activities needed to obtain and prepare data for analysis.

    • Work closely with Internal Audit leadership and team members to identify key indicators to be measured and analytics use cases that will enhance the audit process, increase efficiency and increase the value proposition of audit work performed.

    • Understand the Internal Audit process and identify opportunities to streamline the process using existing analytics tools or by acquiring new tools.

    • Perform data analytics using data preparation, analysis and visualization tools and advanced analytics techniques to support internal audit projects.

    • Coach/Train Internal Audit team members on use of analytics and the development of related objectives.

    • Develop in-depth subject-matter-expertise in understanding key data sources and data lineage within the organization and effectively leverages knowledge to derive meaningful audit data analytics results.

    • Advise and fulfill data analytics requests by auditors to address their specific needs, including data extractions using various business intelligence tools and programming software.

    • Develop complex queries capable of aggregating data from multiple tables and assist in the evaluation of opportunities to deploy data analytics capabilities to expand internal audit coverage.

    • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the firm to stay abreast of changes to the data architecture and source new data for use in Audit Analytics.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in internal or external auditing using/scripting with analytics tools and reporting development

    • Strong project/task management skills, ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment while managing multiple / concurrent projects;

    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university – preferably in a relevant field of study (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Economics Statistics; Data Science; MIS, Engineering; Math);

    • Strong SAP Expertise

    • Strong planning skills necessary to ensure the effective and timely completion of assignments;

    • Strong analytical skills necessary to facilitate informed decision-making about the issues at hand.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
