Position Summary:

Create, develop, and evolve designs that meet strategic objectives on projects spanning Architecture, Merchandising, Industrial, Interior and Experience Design. Work closely and collaboratively with a team of designers to execute Aveda’s creative vision. Create design development and/or intent packages for production and fabrication. Collaborate with regions in the development of retail design solutions, providing ongoing and clear visual communication/direction for all channels and initiatives. Participate in presentations and meetings as appropriate.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Development of new store formats for different channels and regions

• Design of in-store Global retail collateral design, messaging, and other consumer facing retail and salon design elements

• Creation of Store Design Guidelines and VM Schematics

• Develop a visual strategy/artistic vision and retail animation for designated periods and/or campaigns, using collateral VM design

• Creation of retail animations for each launch period and/or any ongoing global VM programs with focus on channels supporting brand strategy and growth plans

• Design of merchandising units, props and display elements; communicate with current vendors or source new vendors according to vendor protocol and sustainable materials

• Assist with fixture and material sourcing using environmentally friendly, sustainable materials

• Coordinate with ELC Indirect Procurement team on Global sourcing projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: BFA in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Furniture Design, Industrial Design or similar field preferred

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to approach design solutions with creativity

• Excellent design skills, proven through a portfolio of work

• Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization software on Mac OS platforms

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

• Drawing/sketching ability a plus

• Knowledgeable in manufacturing and prototyping process

• Extraordinary eye for detail

• Highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas in a clear and concise manner

• Adept at time management and organization and able to work within tight timeframes
