    The Vice President, Data & Analytics Technology Leader, leads the Estee Lauder Companies’ IT Data and Analytics technology organization. Working hand in hand with Enterprise Marketing & Data Leadership, as well as a range of Analytics Centers of Excellence across our Brands, Regions, Functions, and Channels. The Vice President, Data & Analytics Technology Leader will co-create, build, and deploy various data and analytics architectures that support the business personas (e.g. Enterprise users, Data Analysts and Data Scientists).

    In collaboration with the Enterprise Marketing & Data Leadership, Enterprise Architecture team, and CIO, the Vice President, Data & Analytics Technology Leader will play a leadership role in:

    • Defining a future state technology architecture to support data and analytics (ingestion, integration, storage, consumption, governance and security). This vision should enable operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as value creation through agile and accessible, yet governed data democratization
    • Defining milestone roadmap to deliver towards that vision
    • Propose specific rationalization plans along the roadmap – retiring tech debt, increasing agility and security as well as reducing operating cost
    • Co-create (design and implement) enterprise operating models for data and analytics – global capabilities, federated capabilities and how they interact. The goal is an effective, efficient, at-scale and agile model – driving value from standardization and reuse of advanced capabilities while supporting e.g. regionally relevant flexibility and delivery autonomy

    BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES

    • As a technology strategist, they contribute to the Data and Analytics business strategy, while owning the technology enablement strategy, including execution plan and associated budget planning.
    • Leveraging a broad experience in global organizations, they will develop a deep understanding of ELC’s Brands, Regions, Functions and Channels matrix operations, in order to prioritize appropriately and influence the activities and roadmaps across the IT organization to deliver business value.
    • Partner with other Information Technology leaders to ensure support and alignment of Data and Analytics agenda.
    • They will oversee transformational D&A implementation projects, including budgets, resourcing, and project estimates.
    • They will be proactive with their business partners to bring innovative and cost-effective solutions that drive differentiation and competitive advantage through new data technologies.
    • High proficiency in problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities are key for the role.

    TECHNOLOGY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Designs and Executes the Tech strategy for Enterprise Reporting technology solutions across Brands, Regions, Functions and Channels, including capital and resources investments. Work with the relevant business leaders to understand their critical needs and guide them through the development and deployment process: Solution Architecture, tech stack rationalization, economy of scale, transition planning, Data Engineering, and project delivery, including operations and support.
    • In partnership with the SVP, Global Data & Analytics’ Data Architecture team, define and build the data ingestion and storage or virtualization structure needed to support our next generation of data products, self-service analytics, and data democratization initiatives.
    • Defines Deploys and supports the operational tools required for Master Data Management activities.
    • Support and operates these technology solutions to ensure optimal performance, security and uptime for our business users.
    • Keep a pulse on the D&A new tech innovations, vendors and solutions market, and lead POCs and solutions selection to support the strategy execution.
    • Some key technology experience for the position includes but not limited to Operational Reporting (Tableau, PowerBI, Click, Microstrategy etc), Platforms (Data Lake, SAP Hana, Vision01, Azure, GCP), Master Data Management, and Data Operations

    LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The VP of Data & Analytics inspires, leads and directs the Data & analytics team to promote the capabilities and adoption of Business Intelligence and analytics solutions throughout the company.
    • Manage and coach a team of direct and matrixed reports, including tech product owners, IT business analysts, data engineers, solution architects, and application/report developers. Coordinate the activities of Data & Analytics Tech delivery teams across the IT organization
    • Transition the team to operate in a true products and platforms model.
    • Drive towards high performance, leveraging the frameworks available across IT for Agile and DevOps / DataOps ways of working.
    • Solicits and provides perspectives on project delivery, including project costs and resourcing, data readiness, application development and change management. Compile status and progress updates to operational and executive committees
    • Navigates IT operating model to ensure resources and SMEs are engaged to deliver on time and on budget the needed scopes of work based on the SVP, Data & Analytics’ strategic roadmap and D&A execution plan.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE:

    • As a team leader, the VP, Data & Analytics Technology Lead will constantly drive towards excellence in delivery and transition the team to DataOps, Agile and modern ways of working. They will attract, groom, and elevate key talent and partners within the D&A tech space, in particular across our tech centers in New York, Bucharest and Kuala Lumpur.
    • As a senior member of the IT organization, this leader plays a very important role ensuring that the Global Data and Analytics strategies and technology needs are well understood and acted upon across the entire IT organization. They will act as the single point of contact on IT matters with data and analytics counterparts in the Enterprise Marketing and Data team as well as the Online data teams. Engagement with brands, regions and functions (e.g. supply chain, finance, HR) will be done in collaboration with IT tech leads for each, ensuring a holistic IT agenda for the areas the tech leads support.
    • The position requires pristine communication, lateral influencing skills, strong business acumen, historical record in performing and delivering in large organizations, and flexibility in working within a matrixed organization where responsibilities and accountabilities are divided amongst many cross-functional teams. The role and the agenda will be transformational in nature, while maintaining operational excellence. Based in New York City the Vice President, Data & Analytics Tech lead, reports to the VP, Strategy, Architecture, Marketing Technology & Data.

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is $204,000 to $348,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
