The Global Supply Chain Planning team works collaboratively to schedule and distribute product globally, with our California and Michigan based facilities, and global supply chain teams. Global Supply Chain Planning is divided into the product categories that are sold in our business: Nutrition, Beauty, Personal Care, Home Care and Durable Goods. This team thrives on delivering product on time, while minimizing shipping and inventory costs, and delivering cost savings to the supply chain. To ensure a successful internship in Planning at Amway, we will provide an in-depth onboarding training in Planning knowledge and introducing you to all the cross functional partners that we work with, such as Forecasting, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Transportation, etc. During your internship, you will be assigned a mentor that will help guide you in all things Amway and Planning, and one project owner who will help guide you through your specific project.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:

Your role in Planning will play a pivotal role to the success of our department as we provide our interns with real, meaningful projects that would normally be completed by one or more full time employees. During the internship you will also have the opportunity to work in some of our key systems with daily work. This is to provide insights into what full-time employees accomplish and the challenges that may arise.

An example of a typical project would be:

1. Streamline the artwork change communication process with internal partners and suppliers and 2) identify gaps and opportunities to streamline product sample production to support the customer sample program.

Required skills and background:

• Desired Major: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain
• Desired Class Year: Sophomore and Junior
• Desired Skills: Informed decision making, engaged and influencing to address other’s needs and priorities with internal business partners and external suppliers, personal responsibility, have an inclusive mindset to work with partners from various backgrounds, leadership skills, have the ability to convey clear expectations and take responsibility for decision making. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
