    Internship Job Title: ABO & Customer Experience (Global Marketing)

The intern hired will be encouraged and empowered to experiment, take calculated risks, and make decisions for the projects they lead and/or support.

    How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:

    Amway has a variety of data sources available which provide insights into the experience that Amway Business Owners and Customers are having in markets all around the world. For example, something as simple as purchase frequency tells us how quickly an individual is consuming or selling Amway products, whereas something as in depth as quantitative market research tells us about the attitudes, beliefs, & emotions they’re having within their Amway experience, including product consumption. Data sources will include transactional data and survey data, but also syndicated (third party) research sources and social media data as well. The intern will focus on opportunities to creatively connect disparate data sources by developing and proving hypotheses using data and analysis. This will enable Amway to strengthen future learning plans and understanding of the business.

    The intern will also have opportunities to learn about the Amway business and understand how the direct selling model differs from traditional CPG marketing and will explore brand and product development implications of direct selling.

    An example of a typical project is:

    A typical project, which will iterate throughout the summer, will be to work with stakeholders to identify different areas of opportunity, defined as learning opportunities in which Amway needs deeper insights about the ABOs & Customers, about the environment they’re operating within, and about the experience they’re having with Amway. With an area of opportunity defined, the intern will identify data sources that could inform and deepen our understanding of that area of inquiry, review existing research and distill insights, and, in the case of quantitative data, run correlations and other data modeling to discern findings and insights.

    What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship?

    Desired Skills: Microsoft Suite, with focus on Excel and PowerPoint. A good balance of analytical competency and creative problem solving. Communication (Both written and verbal)

    Desired Degree: Business Marketing, or Data Analytics, looking for a bright person with the ability to do both analytical and conceptual work
