    The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of event planning and implementation, volunteer management, and community outreach. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies, including the use of a computer and software applications. Our internships offer the opportunity to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization, further develop communication and presentation skills, and experience skills in team collaboration and customer service.

    Internship Overview:

    • Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
    • Internship Duration: Spring (January 16 – May 3)
    • Hybrid: work from home and in-person
    • Based in Las Vegas, Nevada

    Responsibilities

    Internship Outcomes:

    Responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of fundraising activities to support for the Go Red for Women and Heart Ball campaigns for the Southern Nevada market.

    • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of events. Provide support with vendor and venue communications, timeline management, supply orders, and other logistics needs.
    • Support volunteer recruitment and engagement to ensure a positive, rewarding experience.
    • Serve as guest-facing event concierge. I.e., guest registration management and general customer service inquiries.
    • Provide administrative and logistical support for Development and Community Impact projects to support the market’s overall goals.

    Qualifications

    Desired Qualifications

    • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
    • Ability to work professionally in corporate and non-profit environments.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
    • Strong leadership experience.
    • Basic knowledge of Canva.
    • 20hrs/week availability, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm.
    • Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection
    • Reliable transportation for event support responsibilities

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Compensation – This position will pay $23/hour. Our goal is to ensure you have a competitive base salary. That’s why we regularly review the market value of jobs and make adjustments, as needed.
