    DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

    The American Heart Association’s Internship Program – INTERNS OF IMPACT - provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of fundraising campaigns and events, volunteer management, and community outreach. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies, including the use of a PC computer and various software applications. Our internships offer the opportunity to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization, further develop communication and presentation skills, and build experience in team collaboration and customer service.

    • Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week

    • Internship Duration: Spring 2023 (16-week structured program beginning on January 17)

    • Hybrid Position (Virtual and Office)

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Actively participate in internship cohort meetings and complete project deliverables

    • Work alongside AHA staff on volunteer recruitment and management.

    • Assist with the coordination of event logistics including execution of vendor and venue agreements, assisting with invoice processing, scheduling and event timeline management and supply ordering and tracking management

    • Prospect researching to support the identification of new potential corporate, foundation, and individual funders whose priorities align to the mission of the AHA.

    • Prepare briefings, development of communications, collateral and other creative materials upon request to support successful meeting preparation.

    • Provide logistics, administrative and data management support for Development projects to support overall goals

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities across departments

    • Ability to plan, produce and execute events

    • Meeting management and event management including set up, Outlook invitations, copies, catering, logistics and meeting minutes

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

    • Working knowledge of Canva, Animoto and Adobe Creative suite is a plus

    • Minimum availability 20-25hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.

    • Reliable WiFi and phone connection
