Internship Job Title: Intern- Industrial Design

What is special about this team: If you chased a design career, to invent, improve, and drive product innovation, this team of nine lives and breathes product creativity every day. This is a work hard, play hard team, who collaborates to provide our customers with the tools they need to make their ideas come alive. This team offers prototypes that are technically sound, meeting defined customer needs and objectives for our Nutrition, Beauty, or Home product categories. On this team you will design concepts that will evolve to high fidelity prototypes for new and creative products that can fuel sales for our Amway Business Owners (ABO’s) around the globe, providing new product offerings that our ABO’s want to sell, and consumers want to buy.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: In this role you would be working on an impactful project supporting Durables and Consumables Product Development. You will have the opportunity to develop both product and packaging designs by creating sketches, storyboards, renderings and prototypes. You will gain exposure to a variety of departments involved in the development process and get the opportunity to interact with various levels of the organization.

An example of a typical project is: Work with mechanical designers to design, test and prototype product improvements related to ergonomics, Ideate and create new designs for the next generation Artistry or Nutrition Packaging or Consumer Appliance, partner with PXI (Product Experience Innovation) to design a new user interface

What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship?

Desired Skills: Must be creative with strong ID portfolio, must demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to solve problems; have strong sketching skills, and be fluent in CAD (Rhino 3D or SolidWorks preferred) and good computer and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently

Desired Prospective Degree: Bachelor in Industrial Design
