  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Marketing Communications Associate with skills in Graphic Design to join our team. In this role you will be in a position to grow your skills and make an immediate impact on public health.

    • Craft messaging and creative storytelling for internally facing and externally facing channels (ex: study website, PR campaigns, newsletters, blogs)
    • Plan, execute, and analyze digital marketing campaigns, including social media/paid social, CRO, SEO / SEM, retargeting, affiliates and display campaigns
    • Create materials for digital and print (flyers, postcards, print materials, digital graphics for website, digital ads/graphics/posts for social media)
    • Create and manage study-specific communications for use across all sites (study newsletter, email campaigns)
    • Manage marketing collateral study-wide to ensure consistent, universal messaging, branding and identity
    • Collaborate with recruitment specialist consultant, creative vendors and staff to ensure aligned strategy
    • Support ongoing communications with study partners (study sites, academic partners, insurers, industry partners, professional societies, etc)
    • Work directly with PR firms, UCSF News Office, Medical Center Marketing and other media outlets to plan and develop and communication of newsworthy events
    • Help secure features, and develop communications, pitches and stories for popular and industry media outlets such as podcasts, radio, scholarly journals, magazines, etc.
    • Track and report outreach campaigns, marketing campaigns and the impact on study recruitment and participant retention
    • Present related information, status updates and recommendations at staff meetings, community events, and industry/academic conferences as necessary
  • Qualifications
    • Working toward (or have) a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or related field
    • Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies
    • Strong written, communication, presentation and time management skills
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Engaging personality and strong networker
    • Experience using digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics), CRO, SEO, retargeting, and display campaigns
    • Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud program or other design application (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
    • Experience using online marketing and social media management tools (i.e.Hootsuite, Buffer, MailChimp)
    • Proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple large-scale campaigns and competing priorities simultaneously using project management skills to organize, track and control sub-projects and timelines
    • Demonstrated experience in coordinating vendors including advertising media such as TV, radio, newspapers, and digital/social
    • Understanding of basic science and broad medical terminology
    • Knowledge of CRM for marketing campaigns (i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
    • Experience in event planning and public relations
    • Understanding of marketing funnel and inbound marketing methodology
    • Experience with marketing automation software (i.e. HubSpot, Marketo, etc.)
  • Compensation
    $30/hour
