Position Summary

The Medicare Strategy & Operations Office Internship experience is an 11-week full-time opportunity that starts on May 24th, 2027, and concludes on August 4th, 2027.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in the Hartford, CT office location. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice. CVS Health's hybrid work model provides office-based colleagues the ability to flex between working in the office and working from home based on the work you need to accomplish. Relocation assistance may be provided for candidates that qualify.

The hourly rate is $26/hr with 40 hours/week, no work on July 4th (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Additionally, our corporate interns have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a future role with CVS Health.

Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.

About this Business Area

The Stars Executive Management Office (EMO) supports strategic planning, business operations, executive communications, and organizational effectiveness for the Medicare Stars organization. The team partners with leaders across Strategy, Operations, Finance, Product, Government Affairs, and other enterprise functions to drive alignment, support key initiatives, and help improve organizational performance.

By translating complex business, regulatory, and operational information into clear insights and recommendations, the EMO helps leaders make informed decisions that advance strategic priorities. The team plays an important role in connecting business strategy with execution while supporting the ongoing success of Medicare Stars programs and performance goals.

You Will Gain Valuable Work Experience and Participate In:

• Supporting strategic planning and business operations initiatives through research, analysis, and leadership-ready summaries
• Developing executive communication skills by creating presentations, reports, and performance updates for senior leaders
• Analyzing business data and performance trends to identify insights that support decision-making and strategic priorities
• Participating in cross-functional meetings and learning how teams collaborate to drive organizational goals
• Contributing to projects focused on process improvement, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and innovation
• Supporting the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate business performance and key metrics
• Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business areas to coordinate deliverables and support enterprise initiatives
• Gaining exposure to executive leadership, healthcare operations, strategy development, and AI-enabled business solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Have demonstrated leadership experience. Examples include: active roles in student or social organization activities, sports, or school or work-related projects
• Have internship, work, or project experience in a related field
• Show strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have an interest in obtaining a full-time position within CVS Health upon graduation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams
• Experience analyzing data and developing presentations for business or academic projects
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Claude, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar collaboration and analytics tools
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
• Have an anticipated graduation date between September 2027 and June 2028
• Have a major relevant to the position such as Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Finance, Economics, Communications, Management, Political Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
