  • Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:

    • Working with Guided Discoveries Social Media Manager
    • Brainstorming, and creating weekly content as assigned by Social Media Manager
    • Meeting once weekly with social media team
    • Content gathering, creation and delegation

    Work independently on site to:

    • Complete 3 content pieces per week
    • Content pieces in Video, Blog and Photos
    • Post – Follow Social Media Calendar for daily posting
    • Preplan – Schedule postings for several weeks in advance
    • Engage – Continue communication/dialog with individuals or organizations online and start dialog online
    • Be flexible – Social Media and World Events are constantly changing and therefore posting may change or have to be modified to accommodate those changes
    • Other duties as assigned by Social Media Manager

    Essential Functions:

    • Must be able to effectively work with the campers, supervisors and other staff.
    • Ability to communicate any problems with staff or campers to Social Media Manager
    • Good physical condition with mobility, visual and auditory skills to maintain control of 8-10 campers in a variety of environments (in the dorms, on hikes, in learning sessions, in the water, etc.)
    • Ability to lift, carry and move heavy objects when necessary.
    • Good communication and organization skills are necessary to ensure a good experience for the staff and campers.
    • Ability to properly respond to emergency situations and enforce appropriate safety rules.

    Working understanding and proficiency with:

    • iPhoto/Aperture
    • iMovie – for video editing
    • Posting on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, Later
    • Photography – Taking good quality photographs of students/campers having fun to be used as detailed below.
    • Social Media – Helping create fun videos to be used by our social media team
    • Coordination – Communicate with staff to get a variety of instructors in pieces
    • Posting – Strong written and oral communication skills for posting content online

    $300/week + Room/board
