  • Responsibilities

    As an Applications Consultant, you will guide each of your clients through the entire college application process, from crafting a school list to accepting an offer. Most of this work takes place between July 5th and January 15th. Compensation starts at $20 per hour, with room for promotion based on excellent service delivery.

    If hired, you will become a member of the CollegeVine Applications Division. You will undergo extensive training so you are ready for whatever situation comes your way. Once you begin working, an Applications Manager will answer any questions you have and monitor your work with clients. Periodically, you will receive evaluations from your manager and clients to affirm that you are meeting CollegeVine's standard of service delivery.

    Responsibilities:

    • Use CollegeVine's School List Generator to build a balanced school list that matches each client’s personality, interests, and profile strength
    • Advise client on how to secure great letters of recommendation
    • Help clients fill out the Common Application and other school-specific applications
    • Brainstorm winning essay topics with clients
    • Support clients as they turn their ideas into essay outlines and drafts
    • Ensure each essay addresses the prompt
    • Check spelling and grammar for each essay
    • Edit essays for content, making sure each client's voice comes through
    • Assist with scholarship applications
    • Meet with clients consistently until all their college applications have been submitted
    • In certain cases, assist clients who are deferred or waitlisted to appeal the decision
    • Support clients through unforeseen applications setbacks
