Responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing outbound communications for content and effective audience engagement
• Answering phones and processing incoming emails from students and other NYU community members
• General immigration/visa process related research
• Maintaining files and databases: Microsoft Access, Google Drive
• Utilizing Google Calendar to schedule meetings, reservations and events
• Preparing materials for immigration group processing
• Assisting the OGS with other administrative tasks, general office functions or errands as needed

Preferred qualification:

• Strong customer service background
• Experience studying, working, and/or living abroad a plus
• Comfortable working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations
• Prior office/administration experience
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
• Comfortable with all Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access)
• Interest in international education, immigration, cross-cultural concerns and higher education and enthusiasm for helping students
• Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team
• Ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to make sound decisions consistent with functions
• Thorough knowledge of NYU and NYC resources
• Fluency in languages in addition to English
• Cross cultural communication skills
• Student services mindset

The Office of Global Services (OGS) is the resource at NYU for immigration and visa questions. We advise on immigration regulations in the US and visas needed outside of the US for NYU purposes.
