    NSLS INTERNSHIP: LEGACY & PURPOSE - an involvement-based leadership development internship that focuses on sharpening academic and professional skills surrounding planning, execution, and community service, all with the goal of leaving a lasting legacy in your college community.

    Inspired by NSLS' Greek letters, Sigma Alpha Pi, which stands for Success, Action, and Purpose, each part of the internship embraces the NSLS mission and vision. NSLS believes that “SUCCESS” is already embedded within each student and is or is already in process to be revealed to the world. If you are selected for the internship, we are now developing and sharpening their skills, and elevating them to the next level.

    The National Society of Leadership and Success is the largest collegiate leadership honor society in the United States, with over 700 chapters and more than one million members, who collectively have completed over 282,000 hours of community service. The NSLS Student President will be responsible for facilitating and leading leadership programming on their campus, providing an excellent member experience by managing the day-to-day chapter operations, and positively representing the NSLS brand. This is a paid role.

    The NSLS Student President reports to a member of the National Office team, who is responsible for the success of chapters from different areas of the country. This position will have the opportunity to manage a team of other potential student leaders, plus gain real-world experience in management, communication, budgeting, public speaking, marketing, and event planning.

    The ideal candidate for this exciting role is an experienced student leader who is PASSIONATE about POSITIVELY impacting the lives of their fellow college students while earning an excellent professional development experience.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Leads the NSLS campus chapter, managing day-to-day chapter operations
    • Schedule, organize and facilitate all chapter events in accordance with NSLS standards either online or in-person (if the campus is safely open)
    • Communicates and engages with members across all communication channels to ensure excellent member experience and high program completion rates
    • Maintains a high standard of NSLS chapter best practices as outlined by the National Office, including the execution of the invitation process and achieving their pillars of success
    • Recruits and manages a student Executive Board team
    • Registers and/or maintains status as a registered student organization or department-sponsored program.
    • Attends NSLS VIRTUAL ONBOARDING training and meets with NSLS National Office team member weekly via video conferencing software for status updates on key deliverables
    • Partners with faculty/staff advisors and NSLS National Office team member to grow chapter involvement and membership via NSLS outreach initiatives
    • Coordinates activities to help invited university students learn about and accept their invitation into the NSLS. Some of these activities include, but are not limited to, on-campus and virtual events like tabling, orientations, and information sessions
    • Meets regularly with students, staff, and faculty to develop a positive awareness of NSLS on the college campus.
  • Qualifications

    All candidates will go through the hiring process. The prerequisites to be considered include the following:

    • Current full-time registered student at a 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States for the current and upcoming academic year with a minimum 3.00 GPA and in good disciplinary standing
    • Active (or inspired to have an) engagement in your campus/community
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in your campus/community preferred, but not required
    • Minimum of two (2) semesters remaining before your degree is completed
    • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Proficient with video conferencing technology (Zoom, live streaming, webinars)
    • Ability to work a minimum of 7 hours per week. Times and days for the role are flexible, however, at least 50% of your availability for this position must be within normal business hours (EST).
