    We are recruiting for Co-Ops to be located in Raynham, MA for the following teams:

    Quality Engineering Co-Op

    You will provide quality assurance of on-site manufacturing areas engaged in the production of Johnson & Johnson products in the following capacity:

    • Use state of the art tools, observe elite surgeons in our training facility, and take advantage of on-site training courses
    • You will work in a multi-functional group supporting electro-mechanical systems and their respective disposables (such as tube sets, powered blades and burrs, powered hand pieces, etc.)
    • Support senior level engineers with product development activities that may include instrument and test fixture design, performing product testing and writing testing reports, creating and leading design control documentation, performing failure mode analysis, etc.
    • You will have an independent project that supports the overall Mitek Access and Advanced Energy team

    Our preferred majors are, but are not limited to:

    • Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Materials/Plastics Engineering

    Technical Services Engineering Co-op

    You will be working under the direction of Engineering management to assist in process optimization activities

    • Support design and service transfer deliverables to ensure robust Service & Repair processes for electromechanical equipment
    • Participate in cross-functional product development teams to support and implement the service strategy for electromechanical equipment 
    • Update service manuals, documentation, and procedures, as needed. 
    • Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and suppliers to support or expand worldwide capabilities for product service and repair
    • Develop process flow maps for electro technical equipment service 
    • Accurately gather information and enter into the appropriate database 
    • Complete all required training and competencies for applicable product lines 
    • Gather and analyze performance metrics  
    • Support Base Business Teams to improve Service & Repair processes 
    • Order/ship device replacements to satisfy customer requests 
    • Assist engineers with various Process Excellence initiatives

    • Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Biomedical Engineering

      

    GDC (Global Development Center) Co-Op

     You will work on projects providing manufacturing engineering support in the following capacity:

    • Brainstorm instrument design concepts with teammates
    • You will perform design reviews and provide design for manufacturability and instrument cost feedback
    • Work with in-house GDC toolmakers as well as vendors to develop prototypes for cadaver sessions and instruments for surgical evaluations
    • Research current/emerging technologies to identify potential lower cost manufacturing processes, utilizing six sigma and lean methodologies and knowledge
    • You will identify and implement methods to effectively streamline and optimize our process
    • Actively participant in pre-production and regular meetings with vendors, visiting suppliers’ facilities as needed.
    • Work closely with representatives from Marketing, R&D, Purchasing, and Quality Engineering, as well as, our external strategic suppliers
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies in regards to all safety environmental issues.
    • You should have Autocad Experience

    Cleaning & Packaging Manufacturing Process Engineering Co-Op

    You will work in a highly dynamic, cross functional, fast paced environment to implement engineering solutions to specialized Cleaning, Passivation, Verification, Assembly, Packaging, and Sterilization processes.

    • Participate in LEAN process improvement projects

    • Assist with the in-load and validation of new equipment and materials 

    • Prepare manufacturing documentation and specifications 

    • Gain perspective into Microbiological Environment requirements for Class III Medical Products 

    • Develop a high-level understanding of capacity modeling and process capabilities

     

     Our preferred majors are, but are not limited to:

    • Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Industrial, Technology, and Manufacturing Engineering

    Polish Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

    You will work on providing manufacturing engineering support to Orthopedics in the following capacity:

    • Participate on multi-functional teams concentrating on the development of new processes in support of product launches
    • You will participate in process improvement activities which can include equipment upgrades or new equipment replacement projects
    • Work on lean manufacturing projects to help eliminate wastes in the process
    • You will help analyze scrap for trends to set up a queue for additional improvement projects
    • Tackle Kaizen ideas implementation for the ideas submitted by employees for improvements
    • Assisting Engineers with running trials for improvements on existing products to improve yields and costs

    Our preferred majors are, but are not limited to:

    • Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering majors

  • Qualifications

    You should meet the following criteria:

    • You are legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status)
    • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative
    • You are actively enrolled pursuing either a Bachelors or Master’s degree (but not necessarily taking classes)
    • You have reliable transportation to and from work daily
    • You are able to work full time (40 hours per week) during the duration of the co-op position.
    • Completion of at least freshman year of undergraduate academic program is required
    • Ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
    • You should be able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication and presentation skills and leadership qualities.
    • Have basic proficiency with the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
