    Janssen Scientific Affairs (JSA), a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Summer Intern to work in The Center of Medical and Healthcare Excellence team. 

     

    Patient Engagement Research Team– located in Horsham, PA.  

     

    The internship opportunity will support the Patient Engagement Research Team. The Patient Engagement Research team works to inspire patient voice in research across medical and scientific affairs.  This internship will support the creation of a cross-therapeutic area virtual Patient Engagement Day to expose a broad range of scientific and medical affairs colleagues to the importance of patient voice in research through our Patient Engagement Research Council (PERC) platform.   

     

    Intern role: 

    Key activities will include:    

    • Work with Janssen team and external vendor to further define objectives, shape a value- add agenda, and support selection of patient members to participate  
    • Work with moderators to prepare for two-way dialogue and ensure familiarity with virtual technology  
    • Create communications to build awareness for the program and pre / post meeting materials to support key learnings and establish best practices for future programs

     

     

    This role may also support other project management activities, as needed.  

     

    Each intern will be able to:  

    • Understand JSA and Medical Affairs organizations 
    • Awareness to patient engagement strategies and capabilities at Janssen 
    • Connect with therapeutic area partners across JSA and MAF to understand patient voice priorities  
    • Plan a 2-hour virtual event that engages all attendees  
    • Develop clear communications to support patient engagement across the organization

     

     

    Integrated Evidence Strategy and Operations – located in Titusville, NJ.  

     

    The internship opportunity will support the Integrated Evidence Strategy and Operations function. The Integrated Evidence Strategy and Operations role is a pivotal connect point between JSA, Medical Affairs and Global Medical Affairs.  This role looks for opportunities to strengthen collaboration and partnerships and identifies areas where JSA can support Medical Affairs capabilities.  In addition, this role supports strategies regarding generation and disseminating of critical evidence for stakeholders, helps operationalize evidence generation plans, promotes and facilitates best practice sharing, assess areas of process improvement and aligns regional initiatives with Global priorities.  

     

    Intern role: 

    One area of focus in 2021 is the Medical Strategy Project.  The goal of this project is: 

    • Better engagement and collaboration between Janssen Scientific Affairs and Medical Affairs.   
    • Expand Medical Affairs initiatives, strategies and capabilities to full potential enabling a deeper reach into the healthcare ecosystem.   
    • Establish value added tools and resources to enable integration of value stories into core messaging

     

     

    Each intern will be able to:  

    • Understand JSA and Medical Affairs organizations 
    • Verbalize the areas of a Medical Affairs strategy 
    • Connect with functional leads within JSA and MAF to conduct interviews to assess current state and areas of opportunity 
    • Strategize on solutions and potential new processes 
    • Prepare and conduct presentations to internal stakeholders

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Successful candidates are required to: 

    • Be available to work full time (up to 40 hours) starting in May or June 2022 through August 2022, for at least 10 weeks. 
    • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident 
    • Be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) 
    • Candidates should reside within the Eastern time zone  
    • Candidates should be pursuing a graduate degree in public health, health policy, life sciences, epidemiology, economics, biomedical sciences, health services research, pharmacy, or related area of study  
    • Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college and have at least 2 years of graduate study in MPH, PharmD, PhD, or other master’s programs 
    • Candidates must demonstrate efficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook 
    • Candidates should have good communication skills and a strong interest in Medical Affairs, Medical and Scientific strategies, outcomes research, real-world evidence, and pharmaceutical industry 
    • A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred 
    • Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation to the work location.
