    Janssen Scientific Affairs (JSA), LLC, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for multiple summer interns at the Titusville, NJ, Horsham, PA, or virtual location.     The following summer intern positions are offered by the Value & Evidence Scientific Engagement team within Janssen Scientific Affairs LLC.  

    MARKET ACCESS SCIENTIFIC AND EXTERNAL STRATEGY- located in Titusville, NJ, remote may be considered. 

    The Market Access Scientific and External Strategy team shapes scientific strategy, develops differentiated health policy evidence, and builds a culture of external engagement with leading researchers, scientists, economists, and policy experts. Our projects aim to demonstrate the value of pharmaceutical innovation and drive market access for patients. The team works collaboratively to critically assess health economic evidence, model policy positions, and translate knowledge to engage internal and external partners on key issues that impact patient access. 

    Intern role:

    Each intern will be exposed to the Access and Policy RWV&E area to:  

    • Understand the pharmaceutical industry organization and the public policy environment that effects it 
    • Recognize the value and role of real-world evidence generation (e.g. health economic and outcomes research) in modern healthcare, especially in U.S. Policy 
    • Gain competency in review, analysis, and synthesis of scientific literature  
    • Develop scientific writing and communications skills  
    • Prepare and conduct presentations to internal stakeholders 
    • Verbally communicate economic and clinical research findings to various cross-functional teams 
    • Participate in observational research projects

     

    POPULATION HEALTH RESEARCH (PHR) – Located remote 

    PHR focuses on evidence generation and resource development to inform health systems to enable population health management within Janssen’s therapeutic areas of interest.   

    Intern role: 

    The intern will support strategy develop, study concept shaping, and contribute to ongoing studies. 

    Activities will include but not limited to the following responsibilities: 

    • Work within PHR to inform strategy and concept shaping based on literature reviews, external and internal stakeholder discussions 
    • Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support a population health concept  
    • Engage with external stakeholders to understand changing population health evidence needs

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Be available to work full time (up to 40 hours) starting in May or June 2022 through August 2022, for at least 10 weeks. 
    • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident 
    • Be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) 
    • Be currently enrolled and pursuing Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Public Health, Pharmacy, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Health Services Research, Pharmacy, or related area of study 
    • A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred 
    • Must reside within the Eastern or Central time zone  
    • Should have good communication skills and a strong interest in health economics/pharmacoeconomics, public policy analysis, outcomes research, real-world evidence, and pharmaceutical industry 
    • Candidates must demonstrate efficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
