  • Responsibilities

    Immediate need for a certified medical assistant with 2+ years experience in a busy office. Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:50am-5pm. Salary: $16/hr.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible to the provider assigned to on a daily basis

    Prep charts prior to patient visits, ensuring results and medications are present and complete

    Greet and room patients for physician in a timely fashion

    Collect and document patient vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration), height and weight

    Retrieve and document patient history

    Preparing patients for examination or procedures including positioning, draping, shaving, and disinfecting treatment sites

    Assist physician with examinations, invasive procedures, and minor surgical procedures

    Completing all forms used by the provider in providing services accurately

    Placing leads and performing electrocardiograms

    Perform general lab tests such as dipstick testing and HCG tests

    Performing skin tests (tuberculin) and interpreting results

    Performing visual acuity testing, visual field screening, hand-held audiometry, and tympanometry

    Applying oximeter and recording reading

    Performing peak flow studies

    Administering medications orally, subcutaneously, intramuscular, and intradermal

    Administering oxygen therapies per mask or nasal cannula as prescribed

    Collect, prepare and label lab specimens

    Submit prescriptions per protocol

    Stock and clean exam rooms, ordering supplies as necessary

    Sanitize medical supplies

    Maintain patient medical records and process requests

    Process incoming and outgoing faxes

    Scan documents into EMR

    Answering and returning telephone calls and process correspondence

    Co-ordinate patient referrals

    Schedule hospital and laboratory services

    Schedule patient appointments

    Obtaining patient consents with the assistance of the physician who signs as the witness

    Cleaning and sterilizing supplies, rooms, and equipment before the start of the day

    Checking supplies for expiration dates and disposing of properly
