POSITION SUMMARY

The Academic Research Team is looking for a co-op to support our pre-clinical and early clinical studies focusing on mechanical circulatory support and heart recovery. The Co-op will be responsible for performing analyses of data obtained by Academic Research Team members and research collaborators. The co-op will also assist with development and execution of pre-clinical study protocols. The co-op will be an active participant in our team meetings and provide an independent perspective as we evaluate new research possibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The student will:

• Perform post-hoc analysis of data obtained during pre-clinical and early-stage studies
• Report analysis results to Academic Research Team members
• Collaborate with cross functional team members, including clinicians, scientists, and engineers
• Participate in team meetings and design reviews for early-stage programs

REQUIREMENTS:

• Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering/sciences. Other majors will also be considered with relevant medical device coursework / experience.
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Python or equivalent tools.
• Strong analytical skills required (e.g. research and statistical analysis)
• Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated and willing to learn and explore new technologies.
• Working knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and mechanical circulatory support is a plus
