WHAT YOU WILL LEARN The IT Internship offers practical work experience, an introduction to prioritizing and providing end-user support in a mixed Mac/Windows environment, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing technology-based organization. In this role, you will assist with assigning, resolving, and/or escalating user-reported incidents and problems, deploying workstations, and other projects which contribute to the success of the team. Responsibilities * Triage and assign tickets, taking ownership of assigned tasks. * Troubleshoot Mac OS, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems. * Install and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, AV conferencing devices, and Cisco phones. * Manage Active Directory users, security groups, distribution groups, service accounts, and computer objects. * Deploy and decommission workstations. * Troubleshoot Apple and Lenovo Hardware and work with manufacturing vendors to RMA defective devices. * Assist in creating and maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment and software. * Other duties/projects as assigned Experience and Skills: QUALIFICATIONS * Currently or recently enrolled in a college or trade school, pursuing degree/certification in a business, engineering, or computer-based field, with a 3.25 or better GPA. * A+, Network + Certifications (or similar) are preferred. * Preference given to candidates with experience in: * Mac OS X use and support * Supporting Windows clients; win7, win8, and win10 * Basic computer networking * Microsoft Office suite for Windows and Mac platforms * Active Directory infrastructure * Office 365 use and management * Good knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office Suite of products * Strong verbal and written communications skills are necessary. Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. * Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities * Well-organized, reliable, and attentive to timelines. * Creative, flexible with solid troubleshooting skills. * Proven ability to function well in a team environment. Ideal Candidates will have the following: * Prior experience (paid or volunteer) supporting computer users in a networked environment. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
