Responsibilities This is a PRN position. Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk maintains and updates patient records, which include medical histories, treatments and examinations. They are also responsible for filing and storing records as well as the process for releasing patient medical records. They confer with the HIM Coordinator to ensure that patient records display the most updated information. This is a non-exempt position. Job Responsibilities and Duties Essential Job Functions: Responsible for obtaining and appropriately filing all reports generated by outside vendors Responsible for processing all release of information (ROI) medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance Receives, screens, and routes incoming calls in a professional manner Follows employee health, safety, personnel, and staffing policies Organize and manage patients health data Verify accuracy and accessibility of electronic health record Accurately maintains record completion in a timely manner Effective written communication and people skills Attendance requirements are based on your current role and status of position (FT, PT or PRN).
