    RRD is looking for a couple of Buyers to join our Procurement Team to work remotely!!

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as resource on specifications, standards, brands, technology, and market conditions for the commodity
    • Assist with researching, selecting, qualifying, on-boarding and training suppliers. Investigate new sources of products and services
    • Manage workflow queues to ensure distribution of daily workload with team members
    • Process transactional and large RFP estimate requests from sales/customer service. Determine product and service needs and ensure that specification requirement are clearly identified and met. Reroute requests if product can be produced in-house
    • Select approved suppliers and negotiate pricing based on customer and RRD needs   
    • Complete estimates within department or customer’s Service Level Agreement
    • Perform project management to implement new accounts and/or programs
    • Process sales orders checking for accuracy of pricing, specifications and service
    • Issue purchase orders to suppliers within department or customer’s Service Level Agreement and ensure delivery and quality expectations are met
    • Oversee order status, rush needs and other customer service issues
    • Troubleshoot and follow up on critical pricing needs, special purchasing requests or general issues by consulting with co-workers, documentation and/or department leadership
    • Research errors to determine source and take corrective and preventive action
    • Review reports including open orders, order holds and billing issues in a timely manner
    • Ensure suppliers are invoicing in a timely manner and orders are invoicing RRD’s clients in a timely manner while protecting our working capital
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
    • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Skilled in the tools/techniques of competitive and collaborative purchasing and price/cost analysis tools  
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Skilled in negotiating and understanding of purchasing contract language  
    • Well-organized approach to work planning and implementation of sourcing process improvements with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs  
    • Strong problem-solving skills; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; resourceful in gathering and analyzing information
    • Able to develop and apply effective and proactive supplier management techniques and tools
    • Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and objectives when carrying out the duties of the job
    • Teamwork - works well with people in an atmosphere of cooperation and open communication; contributes to building a positive team spirit; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed; gives and welcomes feedback; exhibits openness to others’ views’
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality

    Required Experience

    High school diploma and 3+ years of relevant work experience

    • OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.

    Knowledgeable of the print industry; knowledgeable of the label/tag industry a plus

    Developed expertise of the critical factors affecting sourcing and supplier management

    Technology - Strong computer skills; experience with SAP and MS Excel is a plus; experience with proprietary computer applications including WCSS also a plus
