KANA is searching for a highly motivated Human Resources Director to lead and administer policies and processes relating to all phases of human resources activity.     • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
    • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Facilitates meetings with managers and staff to assist positive resolutions of concerns.
    • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
    • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
    • Conducts or participates in wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
    • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding KANA’s benefits programs to include paid leave, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, and retirement plans.
    • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
    • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
    • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
    • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
    • Receives employee concerns such as compliance, policy violations, and interpersonal conflicts.  Conducts appropriate investigations as needed.
    • Coordinates or conducts management training on topics such as such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and legal compliance issues.
    • Coordinates or conducts employee training as required to meet legal or accreditation requirements.
    • Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
    • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
    • Maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for reporting purposes.

               

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees within the Human Resources Department.

    Required Experience

     

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university
    • Five years applicable professional Human Resources experience, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
    • PHR, SHRM, or relevant certification preferred.
    • Solid understanding of state and federal regulations affecting Human Resources functions. Strong team member, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues as well as community partners at the local and state level.
