    RRD Mercury Printing is hiring for a Production/Finishing Assistant 

    This position will catch, insert and pack finished products coming off the presses or other finishing equipment. 

    Review final product performing a series of quality checks before loading in to trays or bins. 

    Perform finishing make ready tasks prior to start-ups. 

    Assist with machine make ready and clean up as needed. 

    Follow postal guidelines when packing direct mail orders and completing skid tags.

    Required Skills

    Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identify the correct product for fulfilling customer orders.

    Must have good oral and written communication skills.

    Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to solve problems related to duties of the job.

    General knowledge of production and manufacturing environment.

    Excellent time management skills.

    Knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and basic warehouse procedures.

    Skill in completing manual and computerized forms and shipping documents regarding stock description, units, weight, quantity and labeling requirements.

    Requires basic arithmetic and standard formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages.

    Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.

    Must be able to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working a different shift if needed.

    Required Experience

    Prior experience in a production / finishing work environment. 

    Experience in a commercial or digital print work setting preferred.
