    This is a professional-level, full-time, exempt position reporting to the Deputy Director. The Communications Manager is responsible for facilitating tribal communication with tribal members, tribal communities, tribal employees, and the public through various mediums. The Communications Manager will create, monitor, and update online content, collect, and distribute information through digital and print platforms, and manage social media accounts. The Communications Manager will work as an integral part of the Administration Division and coordinate with Chugachmiut divisions and programs to ensure that content is current and accurate.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field and four years of work experience that demonstrates the ability to accomplish the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
    • Must have demonstrated proficiency in writing, proofreading, quality control, and attention to detail.
    • Must have a positive attitude and a strong customer service mindset.
    • Entrepreneurial and strategic approach to work; takes the initiative in problem-solving.
    • Applies sound judgment.
    • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word), Adobe Photoshop, or other publication software.
    • Internet communications, HTML, and web management software.
    • Video editing software.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
    • Proven ability to produce timely and accurate results while managing the expectations of customers with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
    • Well-organized, self-motivated, and independent worker; understand the need to prioritize work.

     

     

     

     

     

    HOURS WORKED:

     

     

     

    • 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with one hour for lunch.

    • This is a full-time 37.5 hours per week, 1950 hours per year position.Compensation & Benefits:
